Oil Heating vs Renewable Heating
If you are a user of oil to heat your home, then you will be fully aware of the costs involved!. With the governments zero carbon target fast approaching, you may of heard about renewable heating being one of the new green technologies to help reduce our carbon foot print. But what is renewable heating.
Simply put it is technology that takes the heat energy out of the air or ground and converts this to heat your home and hot water. It also does this very efficiently, on average for every £1 (kw) you spend the heat pump will generate 3-4kw back! That's some return.
Right now there couldn't be a better time to go green to. The governments renewable heating incentive (RHI) scheme runs until April of 2021. This means that you will be paid quarterly for 7 years just for installing this green technology. The amount you get is calculated from Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's). On average you can expect £6-11k back on your investment over the 7 years. Not only will you be seeing a return on your investment through RHI payments, expect to make significant fuel savings if you currently use Oil to heat your home.
